Languages

What languages did/do you learn at school/college/university?

Can you still speak those languages?

Have you ever considered, or even gone into, further education to better your language skills, or maybe you have taken a job that requires you to speak the languages you learnt at school/college/university?

I learnt English (well duh and I think I still can ) French and German which I can't do. Wish I could of learnt Latin, there'd of been no oral or listenin exams to drag my grades down! Well probably do some kind of study of written Chinese at university so I can attempt to translate a few texts for my history work!

Well, from grades 4-8, I took French, as it was required. In grade 8, I passed French with only 51%... Taking that to heart, I took Japanese from grades 9-11, which was the requirement for most universities/college. I know smatterings of French, and I can piece together sentences of French, but I'm not really fluent in either. I used to be fairly fluent in Japanese, but I haven't been in a few years.

I studied German, French and a bit of Latin at school...but I didn't really apply myself, ergo I failed to learn much at all.

I've been wanting to learn Japanese for ages now, but again, it's a question of application and, crucially, motivation - something I'm distinctly lacking in, presently.

Learning a bit of Spanish right now and I'm not very good at it.

I'm currently majoring in Japanese at college, and I would like to someday learn German, Korean, Chinese, and Russian.
