Sometimes it can be so confusing...

Occasionally....alright, most of the time....I'll come across a song or a band that I can't decide which genre they belong in, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

Here we can ask others the genre questions that have been bugging us for too long and find out what the general opinion is.

My first question is:

Are Kings Of Leon Emo, Rock or Indie?

I've only listened to a few of their songs but it's already annoying me because I can't decide which genre they belong to. The new single they've released here in the UK is Use Somebody and it has a few elements that could be mistaken for emo. However, the last one Sex on Fire is very much a rock song. But then their earlier music, namely this; On Call, is Indie I think.

Tell me what your opinions are and hopefully you can clear up a little of my confusion please.

Linkin Park?

Numb is clearly rock but they've had some songs which include rap (and I'm not talking about ones including Jay Z)

Linkin Park are Nu-Metal, babe, which is basically metal licks mixed with elements of rap. But only their first two albums were Nu-Metal: 2000's Hybrid Theory and 2003's Meteora.
